The Livingstone Youth Football Academy (LYFA), formed in late 2017, is a non-profit community-based organisation that provides a structure to nurture and develop young footballers.
We use the power of sport to foster resiliency in young people as they are engaged in football and community development initiatives. LYFA exists to tackle a range of social issues, of which our main programmes include; youth leadership; community sports development; girls’ empowerment; school sponsorship; health & HIV education and environmental awareness. We have a philosophy that drives the holistic development of aspiring young players to create conscientious footballers who become impactful leaders and ultimately give back to their communities.
The teams currently train at the grounds of Mulwani Secondary School in Livingstone, where they also play their league matches. LYFA now has six squads, U10/12/14/senior boys teams and U15/senior girls team.
“Football is more than simply a game. It is a greater uniting force with a universal language we speak and a common culture we share.”
