It was a busy weekend for the Academy with matches scheduled for our u15 girls, u17 boys and senior boys team.
The girls team were playing away to local rivals, East Lands in what was expected to be a thriller of a match. The LYFA girls went into the match thirsty for a win against their rivals. At full time, the game ended with a 4-1 scoreline, recording another victory for the LYFA girls.
The u17 LYFA team currently playing the return fixtures in their league were up against 4-ways Nakataindi who beat LYFA 1-0 in the first encounter. The coaches expected this to be a tough game and at the end of the 90 minutes, LYFA walked away with the 6 points by winning 1-0.
The last encounter of the weekend was scheduled for Sunday when the senior team was supposed to face off against Chikankata Diggers in the first match of the league. The game was however rescheduled by the Football Association of Zamia (FAZ) to a date yet to be disclosed. The senior team is still working hard for their next fixture on 15 September against Young Pirates.
